Pupils, staff, families and community supporters gathered at Lenham Primary School on Friday 4 September to celebrate the official opening of the school's new Forest School learning area.

The project has been made possible through the dedication of the Lenham Primary PTA and the generosity of local organisations and residents, who have worked together to transform a previously unused area of land into an exciting outdoor learning environment for children.

The PTA played a leading role in clearing the site and purchasing essential resources, while significant financial support was provided by Lenham Parish Council, The Hatch Charity, The Lenham Focus, individual families and Kent County Council Community Funding.

The opening celebration recognised the collective effort that has helped turn the vision into reality. Guests were able to visit the site and see first-hand the progress that has been made so far.

Representatives from the organisations that contributed to the project joined staff, governors, parents and pupils at the celebration, highlighting the strength of community spirit within Lenham.

The school hopes the Forest School will become a valued resource for generations of children, offering hands-on experiences that support learning, wellbeing and a connection with the natural world.

The opening marks an important milestone for the school and demonstrates what can be achieved when a community comes together behind a shared goal.
