Music at Lenham Primary

Music is planned in-line with the statements laid out in the National Curriculum.  Cross-curricular links are made where possible using Cornerstones, with Charanga being used to supplement and provide extra support and resources to enhance music teaching.

  • To engage and inspire pupils to develop a love of music and their talent as musicians, increasing their self-confidence, creativity and sense of achievement.

  • To perform, listen to, review and evaluate music across a range of historical periods, genres, style and traditions, including the works of the great composers and musicians.
  • To learn to sing and to use their voices, to create and compose music on their own and with others, have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument and use technology appropriately.
  • To understand and explore how music is created, produced and communicated including through: pitch, duration, dynamics, tempo, timbre, texture, structure and appropriate musical notations

What have you learnt in Music this year?

I have played on a glockenspiel, drums and an ocarina.

I liked using the app on the Chromebook to make my own music.

I love creating my own music
